Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated (Junior) Assay Development Scientist (m/f/d) to join us in Vienna, Austria. In this role, you will work together with internal and external stakeholders on the development of genetic and epigenetic liquid biopsy assays.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assay development activities in collaboration with globally leading international development partner.
  • Perform DNA extraction, qPCR, and fragment analysis from native human samples.
  • Prepare and sequence libraries using Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT), ensuring optimal data quality.
  • Process multiple samples in parallel with accuracy and reliability.
  • Ensure accurate sample tracking, SOP compliance, and quality control for reproducible results
  • Manage and replenish laboratory supplies, reagents, and consumables to maintain seamless operations.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team to optimize workflows and drive continuous improvements.

Requirements

  • University degree qualification in molecular biology, biochemistry, or similar discipline with relevant experience.
  • Hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques, particularly DNA extraction, qPCR, and fragment analysis.
  • Experience with Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) sequencing and library preparation is highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a hands-on mentality and can-do attitude.
  • Good level of English.

Disclaimer according to Austrian Law: The minimum base salary for this full-time junior position is EUR 34,622 per year. Compensation will be based on experience and performance. We also welcome applications from experienced senior candidates, with remuneration reflecting their qualifications.
